BEUC DSA complaints vs Google, Meta, TikTok on scam ads

On 21 May 2026 BEUC — The European Consumer Organisation — together with 29 member organisations from 27 countries, filed DSA complaints against Meta, TikTok and Google with the European Commission and national Digital Services Coordinators under Article 53 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (BEUC letter page; press release BEUC-PR-2026-014).

What the complaint records

Between December 2025 and March 2026, BEUC and consumer groups across 13 countries reported nearly 900 advertisements suspected of breaching EU law. BEUC states platforms took down only 27% of those ads based on the notices, while 52% of reports were rejected or ignored. The press release frames ongoing financial scams as a systemic DSA risk and asks the Commission and DSCs to investigate mitigation measures, with fines as a possible follow-on if non-compliance continues.
