HarmonyOS NEXT: what a game build must still prove

Before Huawei UA spend, prove a HarmonyOS AppGallery path: ISBN docs and BizID for China games, plus a HarmonyOS-adapted package rather than a sideloaded APK assumption.

A China Android UA plan that treats “Huawei users” as another Google Play cohort will miss the store gate. Huawei’s AppGallery policy page Business License and Certificate Review Requirements for Apps (policy centre; research body-read, re-checked via indexed text on 20 September 2026) sets game copyright and publication-number requirements for China games. Huawei Consumer Support for HarmonyOS 5.0 and later tells users that a browser-downloaded package which is already HarmonyOS-adapted must be installed from AppGallery, not as a casual sideload. NZ MFAT’s September 2026 market report lists Huawei AppGallery among the China-specific distribution surfaces once an ISBN exists.

Checklist (prove before paid Huawei UA)

Reference table
#Proof questionPass signal from primary docsFail / unknown
1Do we have NPPA ISBN / publication-approval docs matching the China game name?AppGallery requires ISBN issuance certificate or mobile online-game publication/operations approval documentGlobal SKU name alone
2Does the uploading developer match the operating entity on the approval, or is there an operator authorisation letter?Policy table requires authorisation if uploader ≠ listed operatorAssumed group company without letter
3Is BizID anti-addiction verification submitted in AppGallery Connect?Games must link in the online-game anti-addiction identity system, obtain BizID, and apply for BizID verification under Operate → BizID verification“We will wire real-name later”
4Does the listed game name match the publication document and NPPA / association verification?Policy: name must match the publication approval document and be verifiable on NPPA (or Game Publishers Association) recordsMarketing subtitle that diverges from 版号 name
5Is the ship path a HarmonyOS-adapted AppGallery package for HarmonyOS 5 / NEXT devices?Huawei support: adapted packages are obtained from AppGallery; browser install shows “已适配HarmonyOS NEXT,可前往应用市场获取”Assuming an Android APK sideload reaches HarmonyOS 5 users
6Is China distribution planned on China stores (not Google Play)?MFAT: Google Play is not available in mainland China; Huawei AppGallery is named among local platformsPlay Console deep links as the only Android path

What this checklist does not certify

It does not measure Huawei device share, AppGallery featuring odds, or HMS versus GMS attribution parity. It does not replace MIIT Mobile App Filing or the NPPA ISBN itself. The AppGallery policy page is about certificate review for listing; the consumer support article is about install UX on HarmonyOS 5.0+.

Download the checklist card. Re-open the live AppGallery policy centre before a store submission; policy pages move.
