Play / Android developer verification: registration deadline ahead of first-country enforcement
Google’s June–July 2026 posts make 30 September 2026 the first enforcement date in four countries—not a claim that uploads are already blocked worldwide.
Google’s current Android developer-verification posts move the story from “prepare to verify” to a dated enforcement plan. As of the 18 June 2026 blog (with a 15 July 2026 Play Console requirements update), 30 September 2026 is when app registration becomes required for participating stores in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Global expansion is described for 2027 and beyond. That is not the same as “Play uploads are already blocked worldwide today”. Android developer verification update; 15 July 2026 policy announcement.

Separate Play Console hygiene from device install gates
The July policy note ties Android developer verification and updated Play Console requirements to app registration, including a warning about global removal from Google Play for apps left unregistered. That is a console / distribution risk. The June blog’s September date is also a device install gate in four countries across seven stores. Studios should track both, but they are not identical failure modes.
This article does not open a Play Console account, does not certify a package’s registration status, and does not invent an observed upload error. If a studio’s console shows only warnings today, that local UI state is not contradicted by Google’s forward-dated enforcement copy—nor does warning-only UI prove enforcement will be soft.
