Unity and ironSource merged; the promised advertiser gains remained a separate test
Analysis

A completion release confirms ownership, while prospective return claims need measured evidence.
Unity announced its ironSource merger agreement in July 2022 and completion on 7 November, within the originally stated fourth-quarter window. That resolves the transaction milestone, not every benefit forecast in the announcement. Agreement; Completion.
Keep the forecast attached to its original certainty
The agreement described prospective advantages from combining creation, monetisation and growth tools. The later release confirms that the businesses merged. It does not turn the earlier advertiser-return language into a measured result for every customer.
Our recommendation is to turn each strategic promise into a separate observable question. Which interface became integrated? Which workflow changed? Which contract or campaign setting changed for an actual buyer? These questions can be answered with product records before attempting a causal performance claim.
Define the campaign comparison independently
If a later case reports better return, record the game, dates, spend, revenue horizon and other simultaneous changes. A before-and-after campaign result may be useful, but the merger date alone cannot identify its cause. Network composition and attribution settings can also change the measured comparison.
The timeline preserves the deal’s documented completion and the original expected window. It is a reference for interpreting later product and earnings stories, not a retrospective endorsement of the acquisition thesis. A stronger next edition should follow one promised operational change through to a documented customer-facing result, while preserving any limits in the measurement.
Inspect the evidence
Download the announcement-to-outcome evidence timeline. The extraction separates documented facts from our analysis and unknowns.
