Casual session growth is not casual user growth
Analysis

A session total combines audience size and frequency; the report does not split the two for your game.
Adjust reports gaming-session growth of 6% in H1 2026, with casual sessions up 55%. A session count is not a unique-player count. Gaming section.
Decompose the question before the number
More sessions can arise from more players, more visits per player or changes in the mix of games being measured. These possibilities suggest a decomposition; they do not identify the explanation for Adjust’s reported increase.
Our recommendation is to place active users and session frequency beside total sessions in the studio’s own analysis. Keep the event instrumentation stable and annotate releases that change it. GameAnalytics’ metric reference is an example of why a named activity measure needs an explicit definition rather than a loose engagement label.
Avoid reading a category trend as a creative result
A large category movement does not establish that a particular hook, mechanic or acquisition channel caused it. Nor does it show the cost of acquiring the additional activity. Those questions require campaign and product evidence at the relevant level.
Use the report to ask whether the studio’s activity pattern differs from the sampled category and why. If the internal pattern is weaker, investigate audience mix, onboarding and return behaviour before assuming that a new creative format is the remedy. The evidence card keeps the period and denominator visible so a session-growth statistic cannot quietly turn into a player-growth or profitability claim.
