Newzoo’s mobile market size is consumer spend, not addressable UA inventory

Treat Newzoo’s mobile revenue forecast as player spending—not a budget a studio can buy.
Newzoo forecasts mobile games revenue of $121.1 billion in 2026—the largest platform cut of a $213.9 billion global games market. That figure is consumer spending on games software and services, not the media inventory a UA budget can address. 2026 key numbers.
Keep consumer spend separate from media addressability
Newzoo’s public definitions treat revenues as consumer spending and exclude advertising (alongside taxes, hardware, B2B and gambling). Mobile growth is framed as deeper spending per player while downloads fall. China and the US are expected to account for 52% of consumer games spending in 2026. None of those statements converts the $121.1B mobile total into installable paid media, CPI capacity or a studio’s addressable auction.
A finance partner who treats global consumer spend as “the market we can buy” overstates what a UA plan can reach. Player and spender forecasts (3.70B players; 1.65B spenders in the free-edition summary) describe audiences, not available impressions.
Use the number as scale context only
Our recommendation is to cite Newzoo for market-scale context and keep a separate line for planned UA spend, store coverage and channel mix. If advertising or D2C share is required for a decision, mark those fields missing from this public cut rather than estimating them.
