Translate a Google Ads monthly envelope into an average daily budget

An average daily budget is not a promise to spend exactly that amount each day. A reproducible illustrative example with editable inputs and explicit limits.
An average daily budget is not a promise to spend exactly that amount each day. This worksheet applies Google’s documented 30.4 monthly factor for most campaigns using average daily budgets. The scope limits belong beside the arithmetic because another budget mechanism may follow different rules.
Define the calculation before using it
For an applicable campaign with an unchanged average daily budget over the full month, divide the monthly charging envelope by 30.4. The usual daily-limit illustration is twice that result. Confirm campaign type and settings first: campaign total budgets and exceptions cannot be represented by treating this worksheet as a universal cap.
Work through the synthetic example
A 3,040-unit monthly envelope implies an average daily budget of 100 and an illustrative usual daily limit of 200. This neither predicts a flat 100 every day nor guarantees full delivery. Enter a value only after confirming that the actual campaign uses the documented mechanism and assumptions.
| Output | Worked-example result |
|---|---|
| Average daily budget | 100.0000 |
| Usual daily limit illustration | 200.0000 |
Use the artifact and preserve its assumptions
Open the editable calculator to change the inputs and inspect the sensitivity view. The CSV records synthetic inputs and expected outputs; the JSON fixture keeps the equations available for reproduction. These calculations have been checked against the stated example. No measured campaign data is included.
The sensitivity rows vary only monthly by 20% below and above the entered value. They are scenarios, not confidence limits or a forecast distribution. A row outside the model’s constraints is labelled rather than turned into a plausible-looking result. Save the chosen inputs with the decision so another reader can distinguish a changed assumption from a changed formula.
Evidence and limits
Google documents a 30.4 monthly multiplier and a two-times daily limit for most campaigns using average daily budgets. This worksheet applies only to the stated unchanged, full-month scenario; exceptions and other mechanisms require their own check. See Budgets overview, especially “Average daily budgets and spending limits; Other types of budgets”.
Budget edits, partial months and campaign exceptions are outside the model. It does not calculate mid-month changes or cap an unrelated advertising platform.
