Google consolidates child and teen advertising policies into single hub

Google Advertising Policies Help notice posted 15 January 2025 consolidates five child/teen ad policies into an Ad protections for children and teens hub with no enforcement changes.
On 15 January 2025 Google posted Updates to our child and teen ads policies (January 2025). In January 2025 Google updated presentation of child and teen ads policies to increase transparency and make it easier for advertisers to find and understand protections for minors and their impact on ad serving. There are no enforcement changes.
What was consolidated
The following policies are consolidated into the new Ad protections for children and teens policy hub:
- Ads & Made for Kids content
- Ad-serving protections for children
- Ad-serving protections for teens
- Advertising on YouTube Kids
- Default Ads Treatment
English remains the official enforcement language where translations differ. The notice is organisational: the linked hub and child/teen protection pages still contain the binding creative and inventory rules.
Limits of this record
This page does not republish the full text of each consolidated policy. Operators reviewing kids-adjacent F2P creatives, YouTube Kids inventory, or Made for Kids labelling must open the hub and the five linked answers. Do not treat “no enforcement changes” as permission to ignore Families or child-directed restrictions that already applied.
Operator action
| Field | Evidence |
|---|---|
| Posted | 2025-01-15 |
| Enforcement changes | None (Google statement) |
| Hub name | Ad protections for children and teens |
| Policies folded in | Five listed policies |
| UA implication | Clarifies where Families/child-directed rules live for Play and Google Ads; still constrains kids-adjacent F2P creatives under the linked policies |
Use the hub and linked policy pages as the source of truth for creative review — this notice itself is a map, not a new rule set.
