Huawei Ads Kit for games: mainland joint-ops exclusivity and format notes

Huawei Ads Kit / Petal Ads Publisher Service documentation restricts mainland China joint-operated game apps from connecting non-Petal ad SDKs, lists rewarded and interstitial placements typical of games, and limits mainland banner sizes.
Huawei Developers’ About the Service page for Ads Kit / Petal Ads Publisher Service, opened 20 September 2026, documents monetisation constraints that matter for games on Huawei devices in Mainland China.
Documented constraints
- Joint-ops exclusivity (Mainland China). In the Chinese mainland, game apps jointly operated with Huawei cannot connect to other ad platforms, plugins, or SDKs except Petal Ads. Other app types do not carry that exclusivity. Outside the mainland, AppGallery apps may connect to Petal Ads without that joint-ops clause.
- Formats named for game moments. Rewarded ads are described for level completion, respawn, item/bonus grants, continue opportunities, or skill upgrades in a game. Interstitial ads are described for start, pause, load, exit, level clear, or in-game redirects.
- Mainland banner sizes. Only
BANNER_SIZE_360_57andBANNER_SIZE_360_144are supported in the Chinese mainland.
Limits
| Field | Evidence or limit |
|---|---|
| Joint-ops exclusive SDK | Petal Ads only (mainland games) |
| Rewarded / interstitial | Documented game placements |
| Mainland banner sizes | 360×57 and 360×144 only |
| OAID / LAT behaviour | Not this page |
| Not established | Revenue-share percentage for a named title |
UA and ad-ops teams planning Huawei joint distribution should assume Petal-only mediation inside that commercial wrapper.
