Nanobit's public TikTok case combines creator freedom with structured themes. The useful brief question is which parts of a narrative-game promise can vary without changing what the player expects.
Nanobit's public TikTok case combines creator freedom with structured themes. The useful brief question is which parts of a narrative-game promise can vary without changing what the player expects.
What the public case establishes
TikTok describes Nanobit working with Audiencelab by Geeklab on creator-led acquisition, using structured guidance for messaging, hooks and narrative while allowing native creator expression. The programme also changed performance signals through Events API and purchase optimisation, incorporating purchase and advertising revenue in the source's account. TikTok for Business case study.
This is a source-led creative casefile, not a frame-by-frame viewing or a campaign we ran. The diagram below is our own schematic. It does not reproduce the advertiser’s footage, and we have not established reuse permission for that footage.
The decision worth examining
A narrative-game ad has two contracts: a story tension that encourages attention and a player action that can resolve it. Creators may vary tone or framing, but should not imply choices, consequences or licensed material that the game cannot support. A brief that specifies only emotional intensity gives production freedom without defining the boundary of the product promise.
Our original decision map distinguishes the approved narrative fact, the flexible presentation and the intended player action. These are review categories, not scenes we observed in Nanobit's creatives. Ask the product owner to verify the factual layer before commissioning alternative performances. This lets creators change the delivery while maintaining a common testable proposition across the batch.
A usable next check
Give creators one authorised story premise and one accurate in-game action. Ask for different openings while holding the action and destination constant. Use a blind review to identify which versions lead viewers to expect the actual kind of choice offered. When campaign results arrive, keep changes to revenue signalling in the analysis so creative effects are not overstated.
| Test element | Proposed specification |
|---|---|
| Control | Approved narrative premise with tightly specified delivery |
| Variant | Same premise and player action with creator-defined opening |
| Readout | Promise accuracy, comprehension and later value by unchanged signal definition |
| Stop or reject | Reject invented choices or conclusions based on changed revenue inputs |
Download the populated case worksheet. Its control, variant and decision rules are a proposed experiment, not an account of results already measured. Keep the source URL with the worksheet when circulating it so reported findings cannot become unattributed team benchmarks.
Evidence boundary
The published case reports combined creative and measurement work. It supplies no raw cohort data or isolated estimate for creator freedom. No source footage was viewed or republished; the linked map is a schematic planning artifact.
For background, see the creative brief is a hypothesis document and post campaign creative debrief process. These are existing archive discussions, not independent certification of this case. No first-hand campaign result is asserted.
