Apple’s SDK 26 upload gate belongs in the launch calendar

A dated build requirement should be checked before committing an acquisition launch to an app update.

Apple’s SDK 26 requirement is already an operative release constraint. The useful UA question is whether the build supporting the next campaign can pass the upload gate, particularly when the campaign depends on a new onboarding sequence, event or store asset.

Put the dependency beside the spend decision

Ask the release owner to attach the build identifier and SDK evidence to the launch ticket. A statement that the team “uses the latest Xcode” is weaker than identifying the environment that created this particular archive. Local developer machines, a build service and an older release branch can produce different answers.

Our recommendation is to separate three decisions: which SDK compiles the app, which devices the app supports, and which build has actually been accepted for review. This record establishes the upload requirement. It does not establish your deployment target or prove that every older player must update their operating system.

A practical handoff

If the campaign needs an update, make release readiness an explicit dependency before increasing spend. If it promotes an unchanged live build, ask whether the intended experience is already available rather than assuming a fresh submission is necessary. Keep a fallback brief that accurately describes the live experience.

A useful closure note contains the archive identifier, the build environment, the upload result and the owner who checked them. A calendar date passing is evidence that a deadline has elapsed, not that a studio completed its migration.

The governing record is Upcoming SDK minimum requirements. This edition checks the provider documentation; it does not inspect a studio account or certify a shipped build.
