Chart Watch: Mobile Game Charts Enter the Holiday Season

Mobile game charts entering the holiday season show puzzle and hybrid-casual holding steady as Black Friday and Cyber Monday spend lifts CPMs.
Mobile game charts holiday season: the top ten still barely moved
Early December's mobile game charts are entering the holiday season with a familiar shape rather than a new one: the download top ten held mostly steady through the Black Friday and Cyber Monday window, with puzzle keeping its usual grip on the upper ranks, which is no surprise, since puzzle's low-friction install funnel picks up incremental volume whenever a burst of new-device activations and gift-card redemptions moves through the market, and BFCM did exactly that on the retail side even before the dedicated holiday spend push begins in earnest later in December.
Revenue: hybrid-casual and 4X keep compounding
On the revenue side, the incumbents are still the incumbents. Monopoly GO! remains among the largest single spenders on mobile UA. Whiteout Survival and Last War: Survival both keep posting ad-spend rank well ahead of their download rank, a gap this desk has flagged repeatedly through the year as a defining feature of the 4X and survival category. Royal Match and Block Blast! anchor the puzzle-adjacent top-grossing charts on the same low-CPI, high-retention profile that has held all year.
One genre observation
The genre reshuffling that shows up in holiday charts most years, seasonal titles briefly displacing evergreen ones, has stayed muted so far this cycle, and if anything the established hybrid-casual and 4X leaders look better positioned to hold shelf space through December than a genuinely new entrant would, because they have already tuned their live-ops calendars to holiday events rather than needing a cold-start push during the most expensive buying weeks of the year.
What it means for buyers
MMP forecasts already flagged Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a CPM inflation point, and the charts so far agree: volume is concentrating around titles with an established holiday live-ops cadence rather than dispersing across new challengers. A buyer planning the rest of December should treat chart stability itself as a signal. When the same names hold the top of both download and revenue charts through a period that usually invites disruption, auction pressure is normally building around those incumbents rather than easing. Budgets chasing cheap volume this month will be competing against spend that has nowhere else attractive to go.
