Privacy nutrition labels / Data safety updates when monetisation mix changes

Checklist to update Apple Privacy Nutrition Labels and Google Data safety when adding ads, analytics or web-shop vendors.
Adding rewarded ads, a new MMP, or a web shop changes what must appear on store privacy disclosures. Apple’s App Privacy Details state you must keep responses accurate and may update answers anytime without submitting an app update, including practices of third-party partners whose code you integrate. Google’s Data safety guidance says you should update the section when data practices change; disclosures must stay accurate and complete.
Checklist
- Inventory the change. New ad SDK, analytics, attribution, customer support, or web-shop login?
- Map data types. Apple labels and Play Data safety both need types (for example Device ID, Purchase History, Advertising Data).
- Map purposes. Advertising, analytics, app functionality, etc., per each platform’s vocabulary.
- Third parties. Declare partner collection, not only first-party servers.
- Update before the binary that embeds the SDK ships when possible; Apple allows label edits without a binary, but mismatched binaries still create review risk.
- Privacy policy URL. Keep policy text aligned with the label/form.
- QA the product page. Confirm the public nutrition label / Data safety section reflects the new mix after processing.
Limits: this is not legal advice. Jurisdiction-specific notices remain separate.
