France iOS entry card: keep purchase failures separate from translation failures
Analysis
By UA Ledger staff — 2 min read

A scoped France launch card covering Apple storefront evidence, payment-route checks and french review; no market-size or CPI assumptions.
A France test needs two verdicts: whether the transaction path functions under the tested account conditions, and whether the French player-facing explanation is accurate. A single launch-readiness score can conceal a clear result in one area and an untested assumption in the other.
What the official record establishes
Apple’s service-availability record includes the App Store in its France section. Its payment-method record lists Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR mobile billing. These examples are not an exhaustive list: the live source’s eligibility notes still apply, and the page says methods can change. Storefront availability does not establish that your particular game is approved, distributed or purchasable there.
The first test to run
Use one script for a completed purchase and another for cancellation or failure. The latter should leave the game in a comprehensible state without crediting an undelivered reward. Record these as product observations, not as forecasts of how often French players will cancel.
Localise the observed journey
Give the reviewer the playable and the first-session build together. Ask where the ad’s promise is fulfilled, then inspect the purchase wording that follows. If a translation shifts the meaning of a reward, correct the whole journey rather than improving the advertisement while leaving the offer ambiguous.

Keep the decision tied to evidence
Use the editable launch checklist and CSV evidence matrix to keep documented availability separate from actual tests. Both include explicit untested states. The country card supplies no CPI, ROAS, payer-share estimate or legal clearance. Local expert review, game-specific distribution checks and real account observations remain outstanding.
Before a paid test, define the campaign identifiers, install cohort, offer event and purchase outcome you intend to reconcile. Inspect a permitted test transaction end to end, then preserve the raw event references. A successful walkthrough establishes implementation evidence for that case; it cannot establish campaign incrementality or expected acquisition economics.
