LevelPlay playable formats after the ironSource brand transition
Analysis
By UA Ledger staff — 3 min read

Current Unity LevelPlay mediation ad-format names versus ironSource Ads playable creatives—what is a LevelPlay ad unit and what remains network-side.
After the Unity / ironSource brand consolidation, LevelPlay documentation still catalogues mediation ad formats as rewarded, interstitial, banner and native. Playable is not listed as a LevelPlay ad-unit format on the current Unity Grow LevelPlay pages body-read for this record. Playable packaging rules that remain public sit under ironSource Ads user-acquisition / exchange creative docs. Announcement dates for the brand mapping itself are not restated on these pages and remain unknown here.
What the documentation currently requires
LevelPlay mediation formats
Ad formats for Unity (LevelPlay SDK — Unity; last updated note on page: 7 months ago at retrieve) indexes Rewarded, Interstitial, and Banner and MREC integration topics (native appears elsewhere in LevelPlay platform APIs). There is no Playable ad-format topic in that index.
Mediated networks (last updated 2 days ago at retrieve) publishes a network × format matrix with columns Rewarded, Interstitial, Banner/MREC, Native. ironSource Ads appears as one mediated network with ticks across those columns. Again, there is no Playable column.
LevelPlay Ad Units API documentation (cross-checked in research) accepts adFormat values rewarded, interstitial, banner or native—consistent with the matrix.
ironSource Ads creative / MRAID surface (not a LevelPlay ad unit)
MRAID specifications and guidelines (ironSource Ads UA / exchange; last updated 5 months ago at retrieve) states ironSource supports MRAID 2.0 and lists creative rules including: assets + code downloaded to device up to 4 MB max; loading screen required; no third-party real-time blocking pixels; ironSource renders timer and close button; no top-window access; creative must autoplay; HTTPS URLs; click redirect via mraid.open(URL); tags as HTML/JS snippets not full documents; absolute HTTPS asset URLs; no single-line HTML comments.
That page is an ironSource Ads creative specification, not a LevelPlay mediation ad-unit definition.
Brand / format mapping (observation)
| Name in docs | Role | Playable? |
|---|---|---|
| Unity LevelPlay | Mediation platform / SDK ad units | Formats: rewarded, interstitial, banner/MREC, native — **no playable ad unit** |
| ironSource Ads | Mediated network (and UA/exchange creative docs) | MRAID playable **creative** rules documented on is-ads pages |
| Unity Ads | Separate mediated network in LevelPlay matrix | Own playable specs live under Unity Ads UA docs (out of scope here) |
Who should act, and how
- Mediation migrations: map legacy “ironSource SDK” work to LevelPlay ad units using rewarded/interstitial/banner/native only.
- Playable producers buying ironSource Ads: follow ironSource Ads MRAID/playable creative pages (including the 4 MB download cap on the cited MRAID guidelines page), not a fictional LevelPlay Playable adapter.
- Do not assume Unity Ads playable specs and ironSource Ads MRAID rules are identical.

Limits of this record
This edition body-reads Unity Grow LevelPlay and ironSource Ads documentation. It does not inventory every legacy developers.is.com redirect, certify a creative, or equate Unity Ads playable specs with ironSource Ads. Effective dates for brand transition messaging stay unknown on these pages.
