Using product page optimization results to retire UA creatives

When an App Store product page optimization winner is applied, UA creatives that contradict the winning promise should be retired — grounded in Apple PPO docs.
Apple product page optimization lets developers test up to three alternate treatments (icons, screenshots, app previews) against the original for randomly selected App Store visitors on iOS/iPadOS 15+. A test runs up to 90 days or until stopped. Apple recommends waiting until a treatment is better or worse than baseline with at least 90% confidence before applying it; applying a treatment ends the test.
PPO winners should force creative retirement, not only a store edit. If the winning treatment drops a character, economy claim or genre hook that paid UA still shows, message match breaks at the exact moment conversion data looked “won”.
Operator implication
- Export the winning treatment’s promise in one sentence.
- Pause ad variants whose first three seconds contradict that sentence.
- Rebuild CPP/CSL and Apple Ads variations to match the applied page.
- Do not treat PPO CVR as payer quality — pair with downstream metrics separately.
Limits: Apple’s published developer stories (for example Simply Piano, Peak) are illustrative; they are not your title’s results. No account was inspected.
